As Chairperson of the Asia West Pacific region of World Confederation of Physiotherapists and as the Vice President of Indian Association of Physiotherapists it is my privilege and honor to extend a warm welcome to all, to the forthcoming WCPT-AWP&IAP Congress 2009 to be held in January 2009. As the theme emphasizes on Global Health and Disease, it is significant that the congress is being held at Mumbai, the economic capital of India that represents diverse cultures, ethos and a rich heritage of hosting global initiatives and conventions contributing to the growth of a new world.
The primary objective of the congress is to create a common platform wherein wisdom; knowledge and skills can be collectively put together to combat the fast growing diseases for a healthier world. The conference aims to discuss, debate and strategize on management of several lifestyle diseases, while keeping a pulse on the existing issues faced by physical therapists.
Step forth to share the knowledge and skills and be a part of a system that would work towards health and wellness. Let the spirit of service of physiotherapy be a beacon to light our path as we step forth to combat diseases and leave a lasting imprint on the sands of time.
